Symposium Location

The conference will take place at the Convention Center of the Enjoy Puerto Varas Hotel,(Klenner 349, Puerto Varas, Chile), with a scenic view of lake Llanquihue and the Osorno volcano. The symposium dates are considered high season in Chile. Therefore, it is highly recommended that hotel roorms are booked well in advance, prefererably before November 10. Accomodation

Room rates per person per night: 109.000 Chilean pesos (approximately 168 USD, at the current exchange rate of about 1 USD = 650 CLP). VAT is 19% for residents. Visitors with a valid passport and Immigration receipt are exempt from paying VAT at hotels.

The conference rate covers the nights of Saturday December 9 through Thursday December 14. It is possible to stay 3 extra nights before or after the symposium at the same rates if the room is booked in advance. Deciding to extend your stay while at the symposium might not be possible because it is the high summer season. The room rates may also change. In Chile many hotels have low and high season rates.

Reservation Deadline: Room rate and availability is ensured until November 9, 2017 (30 days prior to the start of the event).

NOTE 1: Reservations modified after November 10 will be charged in full. So, if you are unsure of your precise travel dates, it is recommended that the reservation is made for fewer nights and extend the stay, instead of shortening the stay.

NOTE 2: Students that are selected to participate in the Doctoral Consortium will be provided with a double-occupancy room in the hotel as part of the travel grant. So students that are applying for the Doctoral Consortium should wait to make hotel reservations until they learn if they have been selected to participate in the Doctoral Consortium.

NOTE: The credit card information requested on the reservation form is used to ensure the person is able to pay. The credit card will be charged only at check out from the hotel.
