Regular Paper Presentation Instructions
ISRR 2017 sessions will feature both oral and interactive spotlight presentations, followed by a panel discussion. The projector format for the presentations will be 16:9. Each session will last for 1 hour 30 minutes, and will be structured as follows:
- Oral paper presentations: The papers slated for oral presentation only will be allocated 15 minutes: 12 minutes speaking time plus 3 minutes for questions. The transition to the next paper will occur during the end of the Q&A period.
- Interactive paper spotlight presentations: The papers slated for interactive presentation will have a 3 minute spotlight presentation during the session. No questions will be taken at this point; they will be deferred to the panel discussion for this session, or the interactive presentation that will be held during the next break (see details below).
- Panel Discussion: The presentations will be followed by open discussion among all presenting authors and with the audience moderated by the session chairs.
Interactive Session (held during the next break): In addition to the 5 minute spotlight presentation during the session, interactive papers will be presented during the next break following the oral session. These presentations will use electronic monitors as they have been in most of the recent ICRA and IROS conferences. We will have 42" LCD monitors, format 16:9, 1920x1080 max resolution, with HDMI, VGA and USB inputs. They do have sound. There will be a small table for you to place your laptop.
At least one of the paper authors must be available at the monitor assigned to their paper during the entire interactive session. If there are people waiting to talk to you, limit your discussion with any one attendee. You should have several slides prepared that get into the details, but do not plan to give full 15-minute one-way talks. The format of the interactive session should encourage lively discussions between paper authors and audience members.
Blue Sky Ideas Paper Presentation Instructions
Blue Sky Ideas papers will be presented in a one hour panel format. Each session will consist of 5 papers, each allotted a total of 5 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of open discussion. Remember, the goal of a blue sky presentation is to present a forward-thinking idea that sparks discussion and debate.
