PACT 2011 Events

There are several events planned during the week. Participation in all events is included with PACT registration. Registration in tutorials and workshops includes participation in the events on the day of the tutorial or workshop and on the preceding evening, if applicable.

Monday - Welcome Reception

 

5:30pm-7:30pm - Hotel Galvez Pool Area. The PACT welcome reception will be held Monday evening in the pool area of the Hotel Galvez. Please join us for beverages and light appetizers as we welcome you to Galveston and watch the sunset over the gulf.

Tuesday - Poster Session and Reception

5.00pm-8:00pm - Terrace and Peacock Alley, Hotel Galvez. The poster session will include both the PACT Posters and the ACM Student Research Competition Posters. The poster session will include a reception with beverages and heavy appetizers.

Wednesday - Excursion to NASA Johnson Space Center

1.00pm - Departure from Hotel Galvez. Immediately after lunch we will assemble in front of the Hotel Galvez and we will board busses that will take us to the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC). After arriving at JSC, we will take the NASA Tram Tour that provides a behind the scenes glimpse of the like of the original Mission Control Center and real working areas such as the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility or the current Mission Control Center. After the Tram Tour, we'll return to the Space Center and will have a snack and enjoy the exhibits.

• Software Architecting and Design for Early Stage Verification, Julia Badger, Software, Robotics, and Simulation Division, Engineering Directorate

Following the presentations and Q&A, we'll board the busses and head back to Galveston.

Wednesday - Banquet

7.00pm - The Tremont House, Galveston. The conference banquet will be at the The Tremont House, another Wyndham Grand hotel located on the Strand in Galveston, Texas. There will be options to go directly to the Tremont from the NASA trip or for people to first return to the Galvez and then come to the Tremont. The banquet is sponsored by a generous donation from Samsung.

Thursday - Moody Gardens Aquarium

5:30pm, following PACT closing. We have a arranged a private event for PACT attendees at the Moody Gardens aquarium. We will have exclusive access to the aquarium and also ``behind the scenes'' access to some of the exhibits, including personal penguin encounters in which small groups will get to interact with penguins. The evening will include a meal.
