PACT 2011 Travel Grant Information

Support from the NSF, Intel, ACM SIGARCH, IBM Research, AMD, Chevron, CAPS and IEEE TP will enable us to provide student travel grants for PACT 2011. The NSF funds will enable us to provide travel grants for students studying at institutions in the US (including international students studying in the US) or for US citizens or permanent residents studying abroad. The professional society and industrial sponsorship funds are not restricted. The exact number and amount of the awards will be determined based on the number of eligible applicants and the availability of funds.

IMPORTANT: Travel grant applicants should not register for the conference until hearing the decision on their application. Students who have applied for a travel grant by July 31, 2011 will be allowed to register at the early registration cost until September 10, 2011.

We encourage all students to apply for travel grants using the on-line application below. In the application, students are asked to provide:

  • a curriculum vitae (CV),
  • a brief statement (approximately 500 words) that includes (i) an explanation of why it is important for them to attend PACT, (ii) a budget regarding their cost of atttendance at PACT, and (iii) a description of any other sources of support they may have,
  • the name and email address of their advisor or another faculty member that can provide a recommendation (the reference will receive an email with the url of a webpage they can visit to provide a recommendation).

The deadline for applications will be August 5, 2011 - all materials, including the advisor/faculty recommendation, should be received by this date. Applicants will be notified of award status as soon as possible. Travel grant recipients will be required to be (or to become) student members of IEEE - TCCA or ACM SIGARCH.
