Natasha Bhatia

Hi! My name is Natasha Bhatia, and I am currently a James Scholar Honors sophomore at UIUC majoring in Computer Science and Economics. I have experience developing projects in several programming languages like Java, Python, C++, JavaScript. I have a passion for public speaking, and have loved taking part in activities like Debate, Speech, and Mock Trial, as they have enabled me to strengthen my public speaking skills to become an effective communicator. On campus, I am a part of CS STARS and a Project Manager for Illinois Enactus. At the lab last year, I worked under the mentorship of Aganze Mihigo on autonomous robotic navigation using radar. This year, I am working with Fernando Kenji Sakabe as my mentor, and I am creating an immersive VR simulation using Unity for motor imagery integrated with EEG signal capture and Machine Learning to decode imagined movement in paraplegic patients. My research interests are broad, and include Machine Learning, Robotics, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, especially regarding its applications to Economics and Environmental Sustainability, and more.
