2016 Robotics Workshop: Logistics

The workshop technical sessions will be held on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in Room 2005 of the Emerging Technologies Building (ETB). College Station is

  • about 90 miles northwest of Houston (1.5 hours driving from IAH, Houston's Intercontinental airport),
  • about 110 miles east of Austin (2 hours driving from AUS, Austin's airport), and
  • about 180 miles south of Dallas (3 hours driving from DFW, the Dallas/Fort Worth airport).

Hotel Information

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved for workshop attendees at a local hotel, Residence Inn Marriott. Please contact us if you would like to reserve a room in the block.

Airport Information

College Station's Easterwood airport (airport code CLL, actually on the Texas A&M campus) is serviced by United Airlines (ExpressJet) and American Eagle either from Houston (airport code IAH, 20 minute flight) or Dallas (airport code DFW, 40 minute flight).
  • Taxis from College Station's Easterwood airport (CLL): From Easterwood airport (CLL), there are taxis parked in front of the Mckenzie Terminal. The cost of a taxi is around $15 from the airport to the hotel, and a bit less to the ETB building. To get more information on ground transportation services from CLL, please follow this link.
  • Ground Shuttle between College Station and Houston Airports (IAH and HOB)
    There is a ground shuttle between College Station's Easterwood airport and IAH, Houston's Intercontinental Airport, and HOU, Houston's Hobby Airport. It is approximately $30 one-way. For an extra charge, they can pick you up or drop you elsewhere in the College Station area. Reservations can be made on-line or by phone.

Driving Directions and Campus Parking Information

Driving Directions to Texas A&M from Austin, Dallas and Houston can be found on the links below. The Emerging Technologies Building (ETB) where the workshop will take place is located at the corner of University Drive and Bizzell Street. A pretty good interactive map of campus can be found here. There are many options for visitor parking on campus. The nearest visitor parking is in the North Side Parking Garage.
